Car-share guide
Car-share programs in Calgary can be a valuable asset for accessing the rockies without needing to own a car. As of the time of writing, there is only one car-share program operating in the city - Communauto. Communauto is a flexible car-sharing service that allows you to pick up any one of hundreds of vehicles and drop it off at any other location within the service area. There’s no need to return it to a specific spot, making it a good option for trips to areas inaccessible by transit or biking. There's a cost cap of $50 per day (as of November 2024) making it a good option for multi-day trips, as well as day trips. Gas is included; there's a card in the vehicle you use to pay for gas if you need to fill up. You can pick up any of the following types of vehicles:
